George Kohler
Chimney Sweep
An Army veteran, a NVQ Qualified Sweep, a certified member of the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps and HETAS Approved, George has competed in rodeos, skydived competitively at national level and set 3 official world records by cycling around the world with our son, raising over £72,000 for UNICEF.
Never one to turn down a challenge, George is always ready to 'Serve to Sweep' at a moment's notice!
He loves spending time with customers sharing his wisdom and advice over a brew!
Jane Kohler (née Hartley)
Office Manager
With a background in teaching, planning and helping others, Jane manages the vital office functions and customer bookings.
A camp fire enthusiast, who has panned for gold in the Yukon and survived a night at gunpoint in California, she is more than ready to help make your chimney sweeping experience with Hart & Kohl simple and stress free.
She also loves homemade flapjack!

Our four-legged companion who shares our love of a good fire and is quite the expert in hogging the best spot!
Quick to let us know when the phone is ringing, if you give us a call, you may well hear her 'singing' away in the background. She beats 'supermarket' music any day!

The Hart & Kohl Story
How did we come to set up a chimney sweep business?
For over 27 years, the military has been an integral part of both our lives. Having met in Cyprus, we fully embraced service life and enjoyed living in the UK, Canada and Germany with our son, Joshua.
Returning to Norfolk in 2011, Jane's home county, George left the Army and with his extensive background in engineering, successfully ran an industrial business site whilst Jane returned to teaching.
A life-changing decision by George to cycle 4,000 miles across the USA with our son, raising thousands of pounds for the Royal British Legion's Battle Back Centre, gave us the impetus to change direction.
Deciding that we wanted to work for ourselves in providing a high quality sweep service at the 'Kohl' face, where we could use our core values of safety, integrity and reliability to help others, led to George training and qualifying with the highly regarded Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps, HETAS and Rotary Power Sweeping.
Hart & Kohl was born!
